I put off eating healthy and doing right by my body for a long, LONG time. 


Then one day, during an annual physical, my doctor told me I was pre-diabetic and my cholesterol way too high for my (still relatively) young age. I said I'd change, lose weight, dial back the booze - but I didn't. Not until David & Jodie introduced me to the FAN program did I begin to make a change - a permanent change. 


The approach is incremental, it doesn't make you feel like you're depriving yourself of foods (and drinks) you love. Instead, it balances your focus on a longer-term goal with some very modest short-term behavioral adjustments that are reinforced week to week with a healthy (but friendly) dose of accountability. 


Honestly, I never thought I'd be able to lose the 10-15 pounds my doctor wanted me to. Then I went and lost 24...and counting.


FAN has been an awesome way to make healthy eating, regular exercise, and an overall awareness about nutrition an integral part of my life without making it seem like I'm making some hard core, super difficult sacrifice. I cannot recommend it enough. Even if I slip up down the line (probably inevitable) I now have the tools to get back on track and that has given me an immense feeling of confidence and control.

It has been six months since I started the FAN program with David and Jodie Liston - six short months that have changed my life.

With expert instruction and training in both fitness and nutrition, and just the right dose of accountability, I have achieved my initial goals, but have gained so much more.

I hadn’t worked out in years. The FAN program helped me make the transition from not working out at all to easing into a regimented program. David and Jodie made the first steps into the FAN program less daunting by layering in goals each week. Goals that built on one another and helped me gather the momentum to keep going.

Beyond the fat burned, muscle built and pounds lost (all the things that can be measured), the unexpected, but not unintended, results have been the most rewarding.

The biggest surprises came from the adjustments David and Jodie made to my diet. Who knew that “when and how often I eat” could be just as important as what I was putting in my body. I certainly didn’t. I was the “wake up and drink my morning coffee” kind of person who sometimes didn’t eat anything until mid-morning. This was the exact opposite of healthy. They educated me how small changes to the “when and what” could yield big results. Big and sustainable results.

The timely low sugar meals full of protein, targeted water intake and challenge to lay off the alcohol for a few straight days a week lead to an almost immediate change in body fat percentage. It’s most important to note that these are not sacrifices I made. They were lifestyle choices that have changed me for the better. I am more focused and sharp at work. And the sleep. It is probably the best thing that happened all year. I sleep and get the kind of restful sleep we all need to feel great and tackle each new day. I found choosing the good night sleep over that glass of wine each night became a very easy decision. It’s all because of the FAN program.

And last, but not least, the FAN program is fun. David challenges everyone and provides modifications of the exercises to suit any skill level, but adds just the right amount of positive reinforcement and humor to make it fun. Even though I’m in a class with many, the workout feels tailored to me. Before I knew it, I was looking forward to that early morning Monday workout, because of the challenging and motivating, yet supportive environment that David provides.

And the results are there. Results you can see, results you can feel and finally, results that are here to stay.
